Princess Hawaii Cruise 1/11/2010

Aloha All.  Here I am doing my second show of 2010.   I was asked by Wyland to split an artist cruise with him.  I would get the sail to Hawaii and around the islands and he would hop on Maui and I would hop off.  Simple right?  Well it was.  I hope the rest of the year is as smooth as this 8 day show.

The first day at sea was filled with Demonstrations.  I put on a painting seminar for the passengers discussing my painting style and techniques.  My back ground in teaching helped tremendously.  I got the bug back and plan to teach more online as well as hold private workshops.  I'll keep posting lessons this year.

I invited audience members to come help me.  I get a kick out of who is brave enough to step up and join me on the stage.  Of course I get them to help with the easy parts so I don't have to work too hard to fix any boo boo's.

During the off times, I spent behind the velvet ropes in the gallery.  It sits right outside the artium and gets a lot of traffic from people walking by.  I was visited daily by passers by who were curios as the paintings evolved in my make shift studio.

After all the work was done we got to spend some time at the beach.  Here I am with art director Matt and Sarah our new found friend/collector from England.  We get a quick lesson before heading out to take a try at Stand Up Paddle surfing.

My sister Marissa and Matt's boss Robert took to the 2 man kayaks and shot the pictures for us and even of themselves.  The ship stays in the back ground.

It was difficult at first but I got the hang of it.

The smile on my face comes from catching my first wave....I rode till hunger set in.

After playing in the sun we grab a burger at the local shack.  I had one more evening and they threw me a going away party.  Thanks to all the collectors who bought and all the people who made my cruise very special.  see you at the next show!
