In my 30th birthday year life had taken a new twist. After returning from Europe and studying the masters, I had realized the power of storytelling within painting.  Thomas Cole, one of my favorite artists, had symbolized life through a series of paintings.  This inspiration led to " A Journey Worth Sharing".

    In this painting I had symbolized life as a path we take.  The focus was on the path itself even though the destination is symbolized as a rainbow in the distance.  As in life there are peaks and valleys.  On one side we see the interior of the valley and on the other side we see a hint of the vast ocean.  I see the two different sides as choices we make in which direction our lives can go. This year was the year I got engaged to my sweetheart Patti. what I learned the most this year was that life was so beautiful that it should be enjoyed together.  It was a pivotal year for me in both life and art.
