Capri

We arrived in Capri after the hour long boat ride to a charming seaside town with colorful buildings.  Every port was filled with new sights and sounds.

Tamara had set up a tour with Lorenzo, a local who had a boat and the knowledge to get around.

We set off to see the island from the ocean looking in to the land.  It was very nice having shade during a very hot day.

The coast had sea caves similar to the Napali coast of Kauai.  The big difference is that the land above had less foliage and more exposed

rocks.  Nevertheless the scenery was creeping into my conciousness.

Mark and I couldn't resist the call of the blue waters.  It was so refreshing going into the sea.

People often ask me where do I get my painting inspiration from.  I like to go right to the source and soak it in...

As you can see the colors of nature can be hard to believe but are true to life..

Being volcanic in nature, the seacoast bears a strange resemblance to other places in the world like Cabo.

The view on land was just as spectacular with the coast dotted with boats and seaside villas.  This venue has inspired many of the paintings that I have done with the windows looking out to the sea.  Here are various shots of the coastline...

Here is a private beach with tourists enjoying a secluded spot...

I couldn't get over how many caves there were and how well our guide Lorenzo knew how to navigate in and out of them.

After landing we smile as we enjoy a nice snack before heading out to the ship.  Life is full of surprises.  Some good, some bad.  This was definitely great.  See you at the next port.
