
Using Yellow, follow the natural flow of lava.

Add in Cad Orange, leaving gaps for the yellow.

Mix Cad Red Light and Thalo Red Rose for the lava

Continue to fill in the lava, leaving areas of orange and yellow
Mix Thalo Red, Alizarin Crimson, and Mars Black and start to fill in the bottom.

Using the same color, fill in the back mountain.

Surround the lava to trap in the light.

Start to blend in your colors.

Fill in the front rock area.

Fill in the back water area to the top of the wave.

Mix Mars black, Thalo Blue, and Alizarin Crimson for the sky.

Fill in the top area of the sky.

Mix in more Thalo Blue

Continue filling the sky in.

Mix in a little White and Thalo Red Rose to further lighten the sky color.

Continue to fill in the sky also blending as you go.

Mix in more Thalo Red Rose.

Fill in the horizon.

Add in more Thalo Blue for the waters color.

Fill in the foam area.

Paint the shadow of the wave in.

Form the eye of the wave.

Fill in the lower wave with a lighter foam color.

Start to blend the wave.

Using a darker color paint within the lighter lava color to create a glow effect.

Now do the same to the bottom lava.

Darken the foam color with more red, blue, and black.

Follow the flow of the wave for the details.

Paint the foam on the sand using flat strokes.

With more White, and Alizarin Crimson start to highlight the water where the lava's light hits.

Mix Medium, White, and Thalo Green.

Finish the wave's eye highlights.

Highlight the front rock area.

Add more highlights to the waters surface.

Add more lava highlights.

Add more highlights on the waters surface using a dabbing technique.

Mix together Cad Yellow, White, and Cad Yellow Deep.

Now finish off the waters surface using the color sparingly.

Time to sign.
