Maui and Kauai 09

Aloha Everyone!  After tons of traveling here we are traveling some more.  I get asked where do you go to vacation if you live in Hawaii?  Outside of course.  We are pictured here on Kauai in Shipwreck beach with a Monk seal relaxing behind us.

We stayed in a house that was right across the beach.  I love watching the sunset go down.  This is never gets old.  In fact I think watching sunsets keeps you young!

Kayaking also keeps you young!  The girls and I paddle on one and Patti gets the other.  This is a must do while on Kauai.  Besides, how many islands do you know that have a river?

Sonja helps dad out by paddling for him...

She quickly realizes that working is not relaxing!

After paddling through small openings and under shady trees..

We get to our destination.  People often ask me if I paint real places.  Here is an example of how art imitates life!

Sonja blazes a trail to a rope wing that she sees.

Here Sonja is anxiously worried as I swing her sister out on the river.

Time for snacks!  Gotta fuel up.  Its a long paddle back.

One of the first times I rolled down the river was on this dock with a little motor on the back.  Here it is for sale... Hmmmm.

The next day was waterslides at the Hyatt.  Look at the pure joy on Sonja's face.

Of course the water fall made Sonja a little nervous while Rose was loving the action.

Rose digs the water path and her goggles.  Just like a mermaid..

Here is the spouting horn just west of Poipu.  There she blows!

As we leave Kauai and head for Maui we go through the tree tunnel.

On Maui we go out for a whale watch.  The first part was ok.

Rose looks out for whales.  Wait I think I see one!

Yep, they are everywhere.  Nice seeing them at play.

I reccommend sailing because the deisel fumes got to be a bit much for me and the girls.  Patti was ok though.

Time to relax at the beach.  Getting sea sick takes a lot out of you!

There are lots of fish to chase while under water.

Meanwhile sis makes sand castles.

Thanks for taking time to catch up.  We'll see you later!
