07-09 NY, Disney, NC and Tahoe tour

Aloha! My 4 state 4 gallery tour started in NY. Here I am on Fire Island walking on the boardwalk to the Atlantic side of the beach. I love getting to experience new scenes for inspiration.

Louise and Gene are great gallery owners that take care of their artists when they do shows. I was taken to great places and shown the hospitality.

Look at this beautiful expanse of beach. This was a wonderful part of my trip seeing other scenic beach scenes. Everyone has their own piece of heaven.

Here are some of the dock scenes that I use as subject matter.

Here I am trying to catch some rays before it hits the horizon.

We visit local wineries and different ports.

After several days of touring I catch one last sunset and head out to Disneyworld.

Here I hang with James Coleman and alternate shows between the Polynesian and the Boardwalk. These folks picked up some art that I had there and was working on as well. Mahalo!

After the Disney Shows I head on the road to North Carolina with Dan Mackin. We spent time in Savannah and had a wonderful dinner there.

Dan and I had a two day show with the Goebel's. We look forward each year during the peak summer season to visit the area.

Here are some of the folks who bought art and made the show a success! Some folks came by who are already collectors and paid me a visit.

Here are some more shots from the show. The first folks got "Light of Gold" earlier that week. Jerri got herself a little beach scene While Mike got a Dan Mackin painted map. These young ladies are exchange students from Europe and became big fans of the gallery.

After the shows we go out to dinner with the folks at the gallery and the collectors. Jerri and Mike came from the Norfolk area to hang out. What an amazing time we had.

The last show was at Lake Tahoe. Here we are with the crew. We love going to Tahoe for the scenery and the scenery. Did I mention the scenery?

These folks bought the first ever "Seasons" collection of Tahoe. I could never get them all together because the different seasons would sell but not all at once. They have inspired me to get them there as a display so people can choose their favorite seasons or get them all. There's nothing wrong with collecting the whole set!

This gentleman came to the show and the Koa paintings caught his eye. He commissioned one that had special meaning to him. I am doing one with a moonlight, palm tree with lights and a ukelele leaning against the tree. It even has a title "Pau Hana" which means done with work. Here we are posing with the sketch on a notepad.

These folks bought art on a cruise and just happened to be there and recognized my art! They even came up with their future painting which includes a hammock.

This family from Ft. Lauderdale bought the Studio Proof size of "Home is Where The Heart Is". Their daughter first spotted the cave scene which led to our meeting.

Trina and Dave came with their commission which we had done at the last show. It's always a great moment for me when I see happy collectors with their completed art. They fell in love with the Volcanoes, took pictures and made their own painting up with all the different aspects of the scene. Wow! It came out fabulous and I had a great time making it.

After the show We head to Fire and Ice where they cook the food in front of you. I had two rows of food since I was a starving artist!

Later that evening Adriana took us to the cigar bar where we introduced David Wight to the fine art of smoking flavored cigars. I think he felt right at home....

I left with a full display after a great show. If you are in the area, check out the galleries and ask to see their "Walfrido's". Next show Haleiwa, then Poipu Fine Arts and finally Carmel. Thanks for checking in!
